Last night, the world tuned in to the 91st Academy Awards. This morning, the Oscars are up for heavy review. From the winners to the speeches to the fashion choices, we all have our favorite Oscar moments.

In recent years, the Academy has struggled to attract a wider audience with ratings in consistent decline. This year, the added challenge of a show without a host had us all wondering how the show would fare.

Here at Earth’s Call, we fully understand the power of music, so it comes as no surprise to us that it was music that seems to have stolen the show last night. The L.A Times reports this morning, “Several of the Best Picture contenders revolved around musicians — “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “A Star Is Born” and “Green Book” — demonstrating that the crossover of film stars from the big screen to TV is not the freshest story in the migration between mediums.”

The Oscars, it seems, are “Far from the shallow now.”
